In 2009 JISC Collections purchased access to 2965 e-books for Colleges of FE. IS Oxford have processed the catalogue records for these e-books to make them more suitable for use with Heritage, including selecting the best ISBN for book covers. This data is attached below along with a helpsheet for more information about how to import the data and adjust it for your site.
The data is provided in two files as some items (64) were omitted from the original data JISC supplied. The attached zip files should be extracted in to your Heritage folder. The first of these will create a new folder called jisc-e-books. This contains the original e-books catalogue data and a Heritage transfer file with various other supporting records such as global change definitions. See the helpsheet HT33 for instructions about how to import the data.
The second file only contains the 64 extra books that were missed from the original file. Importing these will create new catalogue records with standard numbers from EB12901 to EB12965 (if these already exist they will be overwritten). It should be imported in the same way as the first file. You must run the global change to 'personalise' the data for your college after importing it. (It is not necessary to import the 'fixes' file included with the initial collection as this should have already been loaded.)
If you have not imported any of the files, you can do both imports before running the global change.
Please note that it is necessary to register with ebrary before you can make use of this data.
There have been further updates since the original release of data. These are listed below,
