Understanding Stocktaking (220610H)

Understanding stocktaking workbook

The session focuses on several modules of Heritage.

All sessions include a tutorial with hands-on practical exercises. Where possible, these are based on the data in the Demonstration Dataset which is available in your copy of Heritage. The workbooks can be used again at your site by other Library staff if required.

Who should attend?

The aim of the workshop is to explain in detail the process of stocktaking using Heritage so you can run your own stocktake with confidence! We will be using Heritage version 4.2.8 for the workshop and related test data for our exercise. From version 4.2.6 onwards you can carry run a number of stocktake simultaneously i.e. Multiphase stocktaking. However, Heritage users on earlier versions of Heritage will still benefit from this course as the procedure for setting up, running and processing a Stocktake is almost identical in all versions. The course is supported by a detailed workbook which contains full details of the stocktaking process including hints and tips. There will be an exercise at the end of the day to help you consolidate everything that has been covered.

Some of the topics this Workshop will cover are as follows:

  • Introduction to Stocktaking in Heritage
  • How to Successfully Configure a Stocktake
  • The Configuration Options in Detail
  • Methods for Scanning in / Entering your Accessions
