Managing Serials

The workshop runs from 10am to 3.30pm with registration from 9.30am. It includes coffee or tea and biscuits, and a buffet lunch. The session focuses on a several modules of Heritage.

All sessions include a tutorial with hands-on practical exercises.

Where possible, these are based on the data in the Demonstration Dataset which is available in your copy of Heritage. The workbooks can be used again at your site by other Library staff.

The workshop includes practical exercises throughout the day to consolidate what you have learnt.

Presentation contents

This workshop will cover the process of cataloguing and generating serials in a shorter space of time than previous workshops, also to include the use of routing lists and claims. The remaining time will be spent covering troubleshooting serials generation, what to do when things go wrong! This workshop is suitable for experienced Heritage users who are comfortable with cataloguing but have perhaps just purchased the Serials module, also useful as a refresher course for anyone who is familiar with the Serials Management module. Acquisitions and Serial Subscriptions will not be covered on this workshop.

These are hands on workshops but there should be time to answer your questions and any practical examples that you want to bring with you.
